We are a team of experienced microtechnology experts dedicated to high-quality production and development.
Production of microsystems and nano-probes
NMI Technologietransfer GmbH (NMI TT) was founded in 2002 as a subsidiary of the Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) at the University of Tübingen. The NMI TT completes the value chain beginning at the research institute (NMI). In the Microdevices division of the NMI TT (NMI TT MD), microsystems for life science applications and for industrial sensors are manufactured and sold in small series.
The satisfaction of our customers and the application-oriented quality of our products determine our success.
Our highest goals are product quality, adherence to delivery dates, and optimal service.
Our employees are competent and committed to their tasks. We take responsibility for our success and strive for a trusting and respectful cooperation with each other and with our customers.

The commitment to implement and continuously develop the quality policy is documented by the introduction of a quality management system according to ISO 9001: 2015.
Dr. Ramona Samba - Head of Business Unit NMI TT Microdevices
I am heading the business unit Microdevices at NMI TT GmbH since May 2017. Before that, I was working at the NMI since 2009 for my Ph.D. and as a researcher from 2012 to 2017 on MEA related topics.
I am inspired by strongly application-oriented research at the material-biology interface and the translation of basic research results into application in industry. My scientific background and expertise are neurotechnology, nanomaterials, electrochemistry, electrochemical sensors, and surface analytics.
My interest in combining research and business started early by studying “Chemistry with Marketing” (B.Sc. Reutlingen University) and “Applied Chemistry” (M.Sc. Reutlingen University). The content of my Ph.D. thesis was the translation of new material for microelectrodes to a market-ready microelectrode array (now successfully produced by NMI TT MD). Recently, I got the chance to supplement my scientific background with training in Business Management (Steinbeis School of Management and Technology, St. Galler Business School).
I live in the beautiful university city of Tübingen with my husband and my two daughters.
I am looking forward to getting in contact with you and finding out what we can do for you!
