Patch Server

The PatchServer brings automation to the classical patch clamp method.

Its unique pipette-based approach excels in high quality gigaseals, visual cell selection and fast compound application.

The PatchServer originated in 2008 as a research project of our electrophysiology group at NMI TT Pharmaservices to develop an automated patch clamp system for ultra fast compound applications and stem cell research.

Key features

  • Optical selection of the cells to be patch clamped

  • Fast compound application in the ms-range

Currently, the PatchServer is actively developed and used for drug screening and safety pharmacology.

A commercial version of the PatchServer is also beeing independently developed by Multichannel Systems GmbH (MCS). For more information, see the MCS PatchServer product page.
